This page gives a brief overview of the SIREN application. When you are ready to work with SIREN, click on the button to launch it at the bottom of the page.
SIREN runs off its own website, which you will be taken to when you click on the button. There, you will be able to register your organization or log in to use SIREN. The administrative system will provide everything you need to communicate with the people you want to receive your notifications. Instructions are provided on that site.
Setup & Security
As administrator, you will be able to set up a customized set of fields for your organization. For example, if your organization is a campus, you can set up fields for student names and contact numbers. If your organization is a small business, you can limit the number of people who can receive notifications to the number of employees. You can leave the system open for anyone to sign up to for notifications (like in the case of a blood bank), or limit sign up to strictly identified people (like company employees) who will have to provide an authentication code.
Structure
Your organization’s SIREN account will be a subdomain eg. yourorg.yoursiren.net. This subdomain can be entered through the Launch page here, or through a link on your organization’s website only, or both. While the standard interface of the application will be very suitable for nearly all users, we can customize it for your specific purposes. Contact us for details if you have something in mind–making it happen is probably easier than you think.
